The Digital Innovation Hub Silver Economy (DIH_SE) project is a cross-border cooperation initiative between Spain and Portugal (Northern Portugal – Castilla y León), focused on the digital transformation of companies in the Silver Economy sector. This innovation ecosystem seeks to leverage population aging as an economic opportunity, promoting the specialization of companies in products and services for people over 50. Through advanced digitalization and the use of disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence and IoT, DIH_SE aims to improve quality of life, reduce territorial inequalities, and generate new employment opportunities in areas affected by depopulation.

The DIH_SE project is not only presented as a key tool for the digitalization of Silver Economy companies but also as a driver of territorial and social cohesion. By using disruptive technologies, the project seeks to enhance the competitiveness of local companies while addressing critical challenges such as population aging and depopulation. Moreover, DIH_SE promotes the creation of an innovation ecosystem that integrates SMEs and microenterprises from both sides of the Spanish-Portuguese border, facilitating knowledge transfer and the internationalization of solutions. By focusing on the Silver Economy, this project not only improves the supply of products and services for people over 50 but also fosters new employment opportunities and helps retain young talent in rural areas. In this way, DIH_SE contributes to reducing territorial inequalities, creating a more equitable and sustainable environment for all the communities involved.
