The Organizing Committee of the previous International Silver Economy Congress, within the framework of its commitment to the principles and values embraced by the Silver Economy Strategy, proposed to the Fundación Caja Rural de Zamora the need to recognize, encourage, and promote the selfless and anonymous activity of individuals, companies, NGOs, entities, organizations, and groups who engage with and raise awareness in favor of older adults, people with disabilities, the most vulnerable populations, and their commitment to a dignified life, striving for a more just and equitable world.
To this end, the Fundación Caja Rural de Zamora deemed this proposal highly feasible, promoting the creation of the SILVER SOLIDARITY COMMITMENT Award, and continuing it in this 7th International Silver Economy Congress, with the primary objective of recognizing behavior and commitment across different areas of action, carrying out charitable work aligned with the essential values of respect towards our older adults, people with disabilities, and the most vulnerable populations.
Awareness-raising activities, engagement with political and social agents, as well as a professional and personal trajectory characterized by respect, good treatment, and the fight against unwanted loneliness and social isolation faced by older adults and people with disabilities, along with other inclusion efforts for the most vulnerable populations in our province, will be the evaluation criteria for this recognition, always highlighting the involvement and charitable commitment of the candidates.
It is a way to pay tribute and make visible the values and actions aimed at improving society as a whole, demonstrated by the awardees. Specifically, with this Award, the Organizing Committee of the International Silver Economy Congress expresses admiration, gratitude, and respect for these actions and measures in promoting a dignified life throughout their work.
The Jury will consist of members of the Organizing Committee of the International Silver Economy Congress, as well as representatives from the Fundación Caja Rural de Zamora—a total of five members, of which three will belong to the Congress Organizing Committee and two to the Fundación Caja Rural de Zamora. The Jury will be assisted by the technical commission of the Organizing Committee, which will carry out a preliminary selection of the submitted candidacies according to the general and specific criteria framed within the primary objectives of this Award.
In case of a tie, the deciding vote will rest with the President of the Fundación Caja Rural de Zamora.
The SILVER SOLIDARITY COMMITMENT Award will consist of the presentation of an accrediting diploma, along with a financial endowment of €2,000, which will be awarded by the Fundación Caja Rural de Zamora to the honored entity or individual.
